| Columnist Misfires On His Interpretation Of 2nd Amendment Read a newspaper column the other day by some guy named “Dionne” or something like that, and he must be a strained-at-the-brain liberal dingbat considering his interpretation of the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.This guy argues a complete (and lengthy) column on why he believes about six different things about gun control and the overly-conservative Supreme Court; but, he has based his entire argument on HIS misconception that the 2nd Amendment means “guns for a controlled militia,” as opposed to what it really means, and that is private ownership of firearms -- PERIOD! |

| Armed Citizenry A Much Safer And Better Society! Anyone with a brain will tell you that law-abiding citizens who are armed (and know how to use said arms) are a much better and safer society than one where the only people who “legally” have firearms. . . are thieves and cutthroats. Of course, these liberals will tell you right quick that the only ones who should have firearms - legally - are law-enforcement officers. In the long run -- (observe the present day “Homeland Security” mess that is creating super cops and hothead police officers who are convinced that the world would quit turning should they not be around to “protect” it) -- we still have to deal with that down the road. And it is getting worse. A “Militia” Is Made Up Of “Armed” Citizens! The fact that it is, and will continue to get worse, certainly supports the prospect of gun ownership by individual citizens. Our founding fathers certainly did not intend for a “militia” to be made up of anything other than armed citizens, and they intended for the “arms” that those citizens used would be housed in individual homes. Nothing else is consistent with the times and the attitudes of those founding fathers. Things Patriotic “Send The Wrong Messages To The World!” --??? Has the time come in history for the demise of the United States of America? If that question doesn’t cause you some concern, then the answer may be different than you would like. Why are there Americans, both individual citizens and large companies alike, seeking to somehow become “neutral” to the world causes and politics? Little things (which aren’t so little when you think about them) like wearing an American flag pin on your coat lapel or shirt pocket, has now become a decision for Americans rather than a given. Some are now saying that wearing something patriotic “sends the wrong message to others in the world.” What kind of a message do YOU want to send OTHERS in the world? That you are a proud and committed AMERICAN. . . right? And a flag lapel pin is a good way to show your allegiance to the United States -- just as surely as is saying the PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG!!!!!!! If you are an American, why can’t you say it PROUDLY???? Let’s Get This “Abstract” Message On The Road! OL’ TUCK hopes that someone will get the message and start making American Flag lapel pins so that every American who wants to do so can wear his or her flag proudly. Let everybody know that you are a proud American citizen, and nobody can shame you out of it. Obama, The Democrat, Obviously Wouldn’t Know “Patriotism” If It Rose Up And Bit Him On The. . . Nose! Obama, the Democrat (to Ol’ Tuck’s everlasting dismay) talks about things like wearing a flag pin on your lapel, or standing at attention during the National Anthem, as being “abstract displays of patriotism,” and he prefers the “real patriotism of people helping each other and caring about each other.” We are dismayed because the man obviously does not have a hold on what America is all about, and what American patriotism means to a large number of us who understand his “abstract” comments, but also understand that he does not understand what REAL (and ideal) patriotism is all about. Obama proves frequently to us that he is a universalist, a man of the world, first and foremost. The only time he has the time to entertain national -- GOOD OL’ AMERICAN PATRIOTISM -- is if it means something to his political ambitions -- as when he is speaking in “the abstract!” (As in “let’s have CHANGE!). Not only is that NOT patriotic, it is also deceitful (because most of us believe differently than does he), and it is disrespectful to those thousands and hundreds of thousands who have died to make us free!!!!! |
